We don't think about ants all that often. Apart from when we're sitting in the park trying to have a BBQ and a massive group of ants turn up and try ruin the whole thing. FU ants.

Well, according to science, two new ant species have been discovered, and they’ve been named after two special characters in Game Of Thrones. Can you guess who yet? OK we’ll tell you. These little guys have been named after two of Daenerys Targaryan’s dragons, Drogon and Viserion.

The thinking behind the ants new names is that scientists felt they looked fire-breathing, scary dragons...kind of. With their spikey spines, unusually large heads and colours (one is yellow and the other dark red) these guys looked more fantasy fiction dragons than small black speck on the ground. In fact they look totally terrifying. Apparently their spines contain muscle fibers which are attached to the ants’ heads, which allows them to evolve.

Imagine one of these guys rocking up to your picnic in the park. Oh dear God.
