Star signs as we know it are done. Whatever you thought you were might have been a lie. Brace yourself. For a while now NASA (yes, NASA) have been considering switching up the dates that match up to our star signs because of the solar system - so yes we know this has already happened once. This is all based on a blog post NASA published way back in 2016(when the world was very different). But it's been getting a lot of interest recently because who wouldn't like know a bit more about how the next few years is going to play out - amirite?

Created over 2,000 years ago by the ancient Greeks, the zodiac signs are based on the consolation that was behind the sun at the time of your birth. Our astrological signs consist of the twelve 30 sectors of the ecliptic and start with the vernal equinox, also known as the First Point of Aries. Confused? I’m so confused. Prepare to be more confused.

So, have the star signs changed?

According to the internet, all our star signs have been off by about a month, because the wobbling effect of the earth caused by the moon and the sun means all our star signs have shifted positions. So if you thought you were a ‘classic Aries’ you’re probably not. Sorry pals. And a whole new sign has been added, because things aren't already confusing enough. These are the new dates for the signs

Capricorn: Jan 20 - Feb 16

Aquarius: Feb 16 – March 11

Pisces: March 11 – April 18

Aries: April 18 – May 13

Taurus: May 13 – June 21

Gemini: June 21 – July 20

Cancer: July 20 – Aug 10

Leo: Aug 10 – Sept 16

Virgo: Sept 16 – Oct 30

Libra: Oct 30 – Nov 23

Scorpio: Nov 23 – Nove 29

Ophiuchus: Nov 29 – Dec 17

Sagittarius: Dec 17 – Jan 20

Now this is all a theory so don’t hold us accountable if you start living your best life as a Taurus and then realise you are still a classic Aries. But, it could be true. So you should probably start reading up about your new star sign and living your new starsign life. You do you, with your new sign.

What is the new star sign?

Oh, and if you now happen to be an Ophiuchus, this is your need to know about your new star sign.

Ophiuchus characteristics and zodiac traits

Apparently they have a righteous defiance of authority, they are rebellious, secretive and seekers of knowledge. They have buckets of hidden wisdom and will fight till the end of a just cause. You go, guys.

Ophiuchus zodiac dates

So if you were born between November 29th and December 17th, you are now a full-blown Ophiuchus.

How to pronounce Ophiuchus

Go soft at the start, and hard on the c. So Ophi-uChus. If that makes any sense…Like this? You might also be interested in…

Is the Ophiuchus star sign even real?

Well, it’s all a bit confusing. Some say it is real, and others say it’s a hoax. An astronomer called Parke Kunkle initially spoke about the new sign, but according to astrology blogs it’s ‘misinformation.’ So…it could go either way really couldn’t it.
