Napflixis a self-proclaimed ‘Siesta Viewing Platform’ which hosts slow and soothing videos to induce sleep. The creators say 'Napflix is a video platform where you can find the most silent and sleepy content selection to relax your brain and easily fall asleep.' You can find videos such as The World Dog Show (which would keep me very much awake) and a 3 fish tank visual– there is something for everyone to help lull them to a peaceful sleep.

We have all experienced the feeling of insomnia’ say the folks behind Napflix, which is correct for most people I know. I have always struggled with sleep since I was little, experiencing night terrors and hallucinating death eaters in my bedroom (HOW TERRIFYING?!), so I have adopted a habit of putting on some background noise to fall asleep to. Sometimes however the content is too exciting for bedtime, once I listened to a whole episode of Peaky Blinders because I was too enthralled with what was going on, but I kept my eyes shut in a feeble attempt at sleeping. Others I know, listen to audiobooks (The Roald Dahl books apparently being an excellent bedtime read) or to the radio, which can sometimes spring upbeat or dramatic noise on you.

Here we have a guaranteed safe haven of slow, dull and boring content - -which has never sounded so appealing. There truly is something for everyone:

Be soothed by fuzzy marsupials in The Slow Life Of The Koala

Follow Marioright in to la la land

Re-live university and snooze at the back of class

Lack of sleep can be detrimental to health and productivity – so any assistance in catching Z’s is welcomed. Some of the videos top the hundred thousand view threshold, so it seems there is a market for this low-level entertainment and we’re missing out. It’s as simple as visiting the website, choosing your digital Valium and embracing a deep and easy sleep…ahhhhhh.
