We would never advise going nicking stuff – it’s unethical, you run the risk of getting caught and isn’t stealing just such a school-days pastime, anyway? But if you are going to go stealing, it’s probably best to learn a lesson from Brandy Allen, who got arrested for doing the five-finger shuffle at a make-up counter.

The 31-year-old from Fayetteville, Arkansas, was arrested by police after being accused of putting ‘handfuls of eye shadow into her purse’ in a shop earlier this week, reports the Associated Press.

Officers said that Brandy, who had allegedly stolen $144 (£88.26) worth of make-up, wasn’t best pleased when they confronted her. As well as going on a sweary tirade at them, she attempted to damage the make-up as she pulled it out of the bag so that it looked used, like she had owned the make-up before going into the shop.

Going by the looks of her mugshot, though, it’s little wonder why she her lust for for make-up might be a little excessive. It’s not that we would ever be caught stealing fistfuls of even the most effective concealer, it’s just that we totally get her desire to pinch a bit of power every now and then; that sort of psychedelic look can’t come cheap. Plus, you can't blame someone for wanting to look cute in their mugshot, right?
