Wanna know how to be classy? This is how.
Last night, Oprah Winfrey's interview with Michelle Obama aired on telly in America and, as well as being hugely overwhelming (*how *much female power can one room hold?), it was an exercise in how to be gracious, how to be humble but still strong, basically how to be an excellent human being.
On the subject of Melania, Michelle's graciousness was especially apparent.
'My offer to Melania was "you don't know what you know until you're here" and as I've said to her, "the door is open". Michelle told Oprah. 'As Laura Bush said to me. And as other first ladies told me. I not new in this - I'm modelling what was done for me by the Bushes. Laura Bush was nothing but gracious and helpful and her team was there for my team all throughout this eight year process.'
'And your team is doing the same?' Oprah asked.
'We will do whatever they need to help them succeed. That's one of the things I said to Melania; "When you get to a place where you can digest all this and you have questions because, you know you don't have questions the day after the election... my door is open."
Sadly though - for those still hoping for a Michelle 2020 presidential race, she was pretty adamant it's not going to happen.
'No.' She said firmly. 'I don't make stuff up I'm not coy. If I were interested in it I'd say - I don't believe in playing games.'
Michelllllllllle don't go.
