In case you missed it, The First Lady took over London earlier this week and she did not arrive empty handed!
While having tea with none other than Prince Harry at Kensington Palace on Tuesday, Mrs Obama brought gifts for him to give to his royal nephew and niece. The Prince was said to be very pleased to host Michelle at the palace after the pair bonded back in 2013 over their joint work to honour veterans and support their families.
Michelle, 51, brought gifts for six-week-old Princess Charlotte and Prince George who is turning two next month. Baby Charlotte received an alpaca blanket, same as the one presented to George at his birth by the Obama’s, and a wooden rocking chair made by Amish craftsmen. For Prince George, Michelle brought an Amish-made red Berlin Flyer P-Wee Wagon for him to play in. A gift with real American spirit, which will certainly be enjoyed by the young Prince.
Michelle was in town with daughters Sasha and Malia as part of her Let Girls Learn initiative global tour, aiming to promote education for adolescent girls all over the world. During her visit she stopped by an all-girls school to tell students: “The world needs more girls like you.
“With an education from this amazing school you all have every chance you need to rise above the noise and fulfill every one of your dreams.”
