Remember Married At First Sight? The show, which aired earlier this year, claimed to matchmake couples based on personality tests, science and with the help of relationship coaches, and propelled them straight into matrimony - they met the alter and were married immediately. And now we have an update on the success of the controversial experiment.

We already knew that Kate Stewart and Jason knowles - the couple who seemed to share the most chemistry on their big day - split after two weeks and last week they confirmed they had annuled their marriage. Kate split with Jason after her friends discovered him using Tinder just two weeks after their wedding. Their marriage was nullified by the judge on the grounds that it was never consummated and that Kate would 'find it intolerable to live with him'.

While Sam McDonald decided never to go through with a wedding on the show to her match, former paratrooper Jack Finn-Kelcey, the couple dated after the show. They confirmed that they were dating in July after Sam contacted Jack on Twitter, according to Mail Online. But sadly the pair have now split, with Jack telling the site: 'Afraid we're not [together] any more. We broke up last week. Rather unexpected and a bit sad but there you go.' While they were dating in July, Sam had said they had 'an amazing connection', but that 'it's too soon to talk about love.'

However, there's some happy news as a result of the show: Emma Rathbone and James Ord-Hume, the couple some viewers didn't expect to last the distance (due to their awkward scenes together) are still happily married. Channel 4 confirms they are still together and have plans to move in together.

Earlier we wrote...

Emma and James, have been going strong ever since they were matched by relationship experts on the Channel 4 show. And now they have even more exciting news for fans of their love story - they could be planning to start a family soon.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Emma revealed: "I adore James. We have great fun together. We have a very similar outlook on life and similar dreams.”

James added that Emma "absolutely great" and that he feels like they will stay together. "We're enjoying each other's company and I think this marriage has got every chance," he said.

Speaking about whether they will have children, Emma said: "James would have kids tomorrow if he could. He's a big family man. I'm the one holding back. But in another year or so, well, one may come along.”

She added: “I’m excited about the future."

While this is lovely news for the couple, their joy is a far cry from the fate of the other couple that appeared on the show. And Married At First Sight was initially slammed because of its controversial nature.

Director of pressure group Mediawatch-UK, Vivienne Pattison, said: "It makes marriage look stupid. Channel 4 is trumpeting this as a social experiment but it isn't - it's just after ratings. Family breakdown costs the UK billions each year. This is irresponsible."

But whatever you thought of the show, it's still great news for James and Emma.
