Staying at a new lover’s house for the first few times is made extra nerve-wracking because of the whole make-up conundrum. When do you take your make-up off? Do you sleep in it? What do you do in the morning?
In an ideal world, we would all feel completely OK with going bare-faced because of natural beauty and self love and it’s what’s on the inside that counts, etc. But in reality, we don’t because we’re all really, really, silly and can’t seem to just LOVE OURSELVES.
Anyway, you’d think that by the time you were at the point of marrying someone, you’d have let your make-up guard down, right?
Not for one Algerian bride, apparently. According to Emirates 24/7, a groom has taken his bride of one day to court because, he told the judge, he ‘could not recognise his wife after she washed the make-up off her face.’ He then went on to say he had been ‘deceived by her as she used to fill up her face with make-up before their marriage.’
The best line of all is that when he woke up to her bare face the next day, he thought she was a ‘thief who came to steal his apartment.’ He’s now demanding $20,000 in damages for his ‘psychological suffering’. Poor thing.
There’s a few things here that I have questions about: why on earth hadn’t she gone without make-up in front him of him before? How does one steal a whole apartment? Who is this moron-of-a-man? How has this ‘issue’ even been allowed to get as far as court?
One thing I am not questioning, though, is this man’s utter dickish-ness. I hope she divorces his ignorant ass.
