Emily Blunt could be set to take on Chris Hemsworth in The Huntsman.
The Wrap reports that Blunt, 31, is about to sign on for the sequel to 2012’s *Snow White and the Huntsman. *The film will focus solely on Chris’ heroic figure Eric, who aided Snow White in her battle against the evil Ravenna (Charlize Theron).
Producers are eyeing Emily for the part of the Snow Queen, the sister of Ravenna who is out to avenge her death. If she's anything like her sibling, Hemsworth, also 31, could be in for a real beating.
Emily is no stranger to playing kick-ass women as she just won theCritics’ Choice Award for Best Actress In An Action Movie for her role in The Edge Of Tomorrow. Plus, The Devil Wears Prada’s Emily Charlton was surely icier than any Snow Queen?
The Huntsman is expected to start shooting very soon to ensure it make its April 2016 release date. Director Frank Darabont walked away last week citing “creative differences” but Universal is expected to name a replacement shortly.
Snow White and the Huntsman starred Kristen Stewart as Snow White but both she and the film’s director, Rupert Sanders, were taken off the sequel after it was revealed that they had an affair after meeting on set. Kristen was with Robert Pattinson at the time and Sanders was married to Liberty Ross.
