Awwwww. Warms the cockles of your heart this one, as well as proving that social networking apps can offer so much more than filtered selfies and YOLO quips.

Twenty-three-year-old Nia Edwards from Missouri in the US had been trying to track down her older sister, Brenda, 42, who she hadn't seen since she was four. Having attempted a search through Facebook and MySpace, but to no avail, Nia finally chanced upon the woman she believed to be her sister on Instagram. Bravely, she typed out the super-cute message below one of Brenda's pictures. 'Hey, I'm your sister Nia Edwards. I haven't seen you since I was 4 or 5. If you are Brenda Edwards daughter of Milton Edwards I love you, sis.'

Brenda replied with an equally warm, 'Yes, lil' lady I have been looking for you, love you too. Do you have a phone?' As if this wasn't joyous enough, the Edwards' familial Instagram reunion continued, as Nia also managed to track down their estranged older brother, Milton, who lived in Texas and whom she had actually never met.

Now the siblings are planning an IRL reunion in Missouri this summer. But before that happens, Nia wants to try and track down her other two siblings, Maurice and Candice. Fingers crossed for a five-strong Edwards' reunion this summer.
