You’re More Likely To Get Pregnant Next Year If This Is Your Name

What To Expect When You're Expecting

Could 2018 be the year that you become a mum for the first time? New data released by the Office of National Statistics has found that if you’re called Rebecca, it could be.

The findings come as they release the average age that women are getting pregnant for the first time in the UK, which is currently 28.8 years old (which has gone up by 0.2 years since 2016). That means that women who were born in 1989 and 1990 are the ones most likely to be conceiving next year.

Now, the Office of National Statistics also records information about the most popular baby names, and between 1984 and 1994, Rebecca took poll position. Therefore, there are so many Rebecca’s who will be 28.8 next year, that they’re the most likely to get pregnant. Sadly, you can’t narrow it down any further than that, as they only keep the information in 10-year increments.

Other names on the list include Lauren, Jessica, Charlotte and Hannah, while those called Alice, Rachel and Samantha also have an outside chance as they complete the top 20.

It’s not exactly a science, but hey, it’s still fun to see if you made the list, isn’t it?
