She described her Vogue magazine cover as a 'dream come true,' but it seems that Kim Kardashian is currently living her own fashion nightmare.
The reality star and her hubby Kanye West were snubbed from the cover of the fashion bible's special Met Ball addition, which, let's face it, has gotta hurt.
While Rihanna provided the main cover image in THAT meme-inducing Guo Pei gown, other A-listers were named on the front cover. The likes of Beyonce, Jennifer Lawrence, George and Amal Clooney and even Kim’s little sister Kendall, were featured.
There have been whispers that the selfie addict's absence from the front cover might be because she angered Anna Wintour – who imposed a ‘no-selfie’ ban, asking guests not to upload pictures to social media ahead of the grand event in New York.
Obviously Kim posted lots snaps of herself and Kanye as well as pictures with Lady Gaga, Cher and JLo, but, for her, she was positively reserved during the event.
She wasn’t the only one to ignore Ms Wintour’s warnings – Beyonce was clearly one of the worst offenders. She debuted her barely-there Givenchy gown on Insta before arriving a staggering three hours late to the red carpet.
Like Beyonce, Kim had also decided upon a revealing ensemble for the occasion – she chose a crystal embellished dress with a feathered train by Peter Dundas for Roberto Cavalli. Perhaps Anna simply didn't like the look?
The Vogue editor was heavily criticised when she put Kimye on the cover of the magazine for the April issue last year, but initially it seemed like it was a very savy move. According to initial reports the magazine sold more than 500,000 copies. Then in May last year it was reported the issue sold just 250,000 for the month, lower than Michelle Obama’s cover in 2013 which had sales figures of 269,000.
