Earlier this week it was reported that Katy Perry was set to record a take down song about Taylor Swift, thought to be in response to Taylor's hit song 'Bad Blood.'
It was said that the song would be called 1984 - a direct reference to Taylor's album title 1989.
However, Katy's people have now denied that the song has anything to do with Miss Perry telling Billboard: "Katy Perry’s managers at Direct Management Group confirm that this story is completely false. Katy Perry was not involved in writing, singing, recording or registering this song."
Katy then posted a link to the article on her Twitter site. Taylor's song Bad Blood is widely thought to be about a fued with the Roar singer.
Whilst Ms Swift has never confirmed this she previously told Rolling Stone of her mystery enemy: "For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, "Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?"
'Then last year, the other star crossed a line. She did something so horrible, I was like, "Oh, we're just straight-up enemies." And it wasn't even about a guy!"
Taylor revealed that the subject of Bad Blood (Katy) tried to steal dancers from her tour. Guess we'll have to wait a little longer to see what Ms Perry has to say about the matter, eh?
