It was a pretty interesting collection of people up on the stage at the Women of the World festival yesterday to debate Page 3. On one hand there was Laura Bates, the founder of Everyday Sexism, but sitting next to her was Britain’s biggest glamour model Katie Price and editor of lad’s mag Loaded.

The debate, titled 'Does Page 3 Make The World A Better Place?' was part of the celebrations around International Women’s Day - so perhaps it's no surprise that Katie admitted she was a little apprehensive beforehand. 'I was so nervous before the debate,' she told The Daily Mail. There were a lot of intelligent people there and I decided to just go and be me and do it Pricey style.'

What that meant was being candid with her opinions. When Katie was asked whether she thought Page 3 was damaging, she insisted it was 'an institution, light hearted and cheeky' - a statement writer India Knight then challenged, saying that back in the 70's when it started women were having 'a horrible time.'

Katie was unrepentant though, questioning why people judge Page 3 differenly to naked fashion shoots. 'You see girls topless on the catwalk but it's fashion, it's art.'

After the debate Channel 4 news jumped on Katie as she was leaving the building to ask if she was ‘part of the problem’ to which she responded, ‘I am a massive problem, I’m Pricey.’ Quite.
