Kanye West found fame with his debut album* College Dropout* but now, 17 years after quitting school, the rapper has finally graduated.
The School of the Art Institute of Chicago has given Kanye an honorary doctorate degree making him officially: Dr West.
‘Ye was dressed in traditional graduation robes and was all smiles for the occasion, telling the audience: “When I was giving a lecture at Oxford, I brought up this school because when I went out on that mission to create other spaces — apparel, film, performance — it would’ve been easier if I could have said I had a degree at the Art Institute of Chicago.”
Kim Kardashian was in Brazil while her husband accepted his degree but she did post a sweet Instagram saying: Dr. Kanye West!!!!!!! I'm so proud of you baby & I know your mom would be so proud too!!!!”
Kanye first attended college in 1997 when he took painting classes at Chicago’s American Academy of Art. He later transferred to Chicago State University to study English before dropping out at age 20 to pursue his dream of making music. Wonder how that panned out?
And Kanye's not the Only One (get it?!), take a look in the gallery below at other stars who have graduated...
