Onion is a cat suffering from Atresia Ani – basically she hasn’t got a bottom. She was abandoned on the streets at 9 weeks of age and lovely nice caring people brought her to the vets. Her condition means her intestinal tract ends in her vulva, which is where she has been pooping from – that sounds very painful. Onion has developed a nasty bacterial infection as a result of this.
In a case like this, normally Onion would have been euthanized but because she’s making such good progress the vets want to give her a normal cat life. Such a condition obviously needs surgery, which comes at a cost. The JustGiving page is aiming for £2000, which they have recently just surpassed.
Onion is currently living with foster parents and she truly is adorable. Updates on the page state that she is 'thrilled at the prospect of getting a REAL BUM!’ – which is just the sweetest and we’re all absolutely thrilled for her at The Debrief HQ.
Just Giving is full of amazing causes and it’s really lovely to see the generosity of the public, so even if Onion’s quest is finished, I really recommend having a look and donating even just a £1 to whatever you see fit.
