In the biggest news from 'spoons since we realised that each meal comes with exactly 20 chips, the budget chain have branched out from pub grub in order to offer their spin on everyone’s favourite talking point right now. Brexit.

The pub chain has printed 200,000 ‘Vote Leave’ beer mats that will be available in 920 pubs across the UK as the referendum approaches. The information on the beer mat draws attention to the actions of senior officials at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), urging voters to ‘take back control’ by voting to leave the EU on 23rd June.

Tim Martin, founder and chairman of Wetherspoon told The Guardian ‘The government has paraded a number of financial institutions in front of the public, who have, in my view, grossly distorted our financial prospects in the event of a Brexit.’
