A sheriff at a jail in America has decided to change the uniform for inmates because orange has become ‘too cool’ in light of the success of Orange Is The New Black.

Saginaw County Sheriff William Federspiel says that he’s started to see regular people wearing head-to-toe orange out and about in public and says it causes an issue when inmates from the jail are doing work in the public arena.

‘It's a concern because we do have our inmates out sometimes doing work in the public, and I don't want anyone to confuse them or have them walk away,’ Federspiel told Mlive.com

Instead of the citrusy solid, the Sheriff has decided to go old-school and has started purchasing the traditional black-and-white striped uniforms synonymous with prisoners in cartoons and old-timey movies such as O Brother, Where Art Thou.

'We decided that the black-and-white stripes would be the best way to go because it signifies 'jail inmate,' and I don't see people out there wanting to wear black-and-white stripes,’ he said. We beg to differ, Sheriff. We love a black-and-white stripe.

Apparently, though, the inmates are not fans of the classic striped look. Federspiel has a pretty good response for them:

‘A lot of them have said, "We don't like wearing black-and-white stripes." And my response is, "Too bad. Don't come to jail." If you come to dinner at my house and you don't like what I'm serving, don't come back. If you don't like the food, don't come back. If you don't like the clothes that I give you, don't come back. I didn't ask you to come wear this uniform.’

Our next question is, where can we find one of these 'classic crook' jumpsuits?
