If you haven’t seen the latest Internet craze currently taking over social media then it’s time to listen up. Behold MyIdol. This Chinese avatar-generating app, which lets users create their own digital doppelgänger, is taking Twitter,Tumblr, Vine and Facebook by storm.
Want the low down? It’s super easy to use. Simply upload a photo of yourself, sit back and enjoy. Along with dressing your new cartoon double in the outfit of your choice (there’s even a panda outfit should you fancy) you can then choose an action for your mini-me to perform. Fancy belting out a Chinese ballad? Sure! Want to lounge on a sun bed whilst looking awfully smug? You got it. Heck, maybe even dance around to Justin Timerlake’s Bringing Sexy Back? Not a problem.
Although the app is currently only available in Chinese, don’t panic. It’s pretty straightforward to use and doesn’t take long to master. So, whether uploading your own face or your favourite.. erm…idols (see what we did there) the options are endless. What’s more, even Tinseltown has gotten in on the action with the likes of Miley Cyrus uploading her avatar onto Instagram. Dressed in a casual black sweater, super short shorts and knee high lace up boots (obviously) you can watch the pop star swing seductively around a pole.
Still need a little convincing? Check this out. Naturally the first thing team Grazia did after hearing of this wonder app was to run off and generate our favourite A-lister’s (Well, what else are you meant to do on a Friday afternoon!) From Emma Watson playing the bongo, Kendall Jenner storming the runway or Kanye dancing to Gangnam Style (yes, really) check out our favourite videos below.
