Grazia Escapes: Hï Ibiza

Ibiza Hi Club

Playa d’en Bossa, Ibiza is not for the faint hearted. Where Ibiza was formerly a vampire’s paradise – all the action happening late into the night and early the next day – now the day clubs of Playa have revolutionized the way the island parties.

But what of the original clubs left in its wake? The fate of Space, which closed last year, was sealed when Ushuaïa moved in over the road with its festival level day line-ups featuring international headliners like David Guetta and Major Lazer.

The club, tired after decades of faithful service, went out with a rumoured 48 hour straight closing party. But with its loss, remained a desire for a new kind of extension to the fun times. Ushuaïa stepped in and Hï Ibiza was born in its shape.

Refreshed and revived in the of Space, that’s where the similarities stop. This is a world-class musical experience bringing equally big names in EDM to its sister club across the road in a state of the art environment.

Boasting VIP areas which open democratically over the main dancefloor where you’ll see international headliners such as Eric Prydz and Armin van Buuren mixed in with fun nights like Glitterbox, a mini club playing 90s classics (almost as popular as the main stage) in the toilets and a magical secret garden, this is a beautiful update to a club classic.

On the night we were there, after David Guetta at Ushuaïa, we spotted the man himself slipping in for a post-set after party to the thumping sounds of mega DJ Martin Garrix. And when we fancied a break from the action, we headed up to the best space in the house: the Veuve Clicqot bar upstairs.

The Hï closing party is on Sunday October 8th. Tickets start from €60 Visit hiibiza.com/en for more information.
