Live Life on Impulse is all about making the most of life and being spontaneous, because why not?! Take on challenges, step outside the box, do things you wouldn’t normally do! With the new year now here, it is the perfect time to do something out of the ordinary and make yourself feel great.
Basically, Living Life On Impulse is the best thing you can do in 2017. Lydia Pace, the winner of Impulse blogger competition, got the opportunity to spend two days with former Grazia Daily editor Jessica Vince for the ultimate blogging trainee experience. Lydia seized the day, and you can too – here’s how:
**1. Book a life-changing holiday **
Transformative Travel is the 2017 version of taking a gap yah to go and find yourself. Even if you’ve only got ten days leave and a limited budget, doesn’t mean you can’t take some time out to totally change your perspective – just opt for once-in-a-lifetime views and experiences over posh hotels. Chances are you’ll come back totally transformed as soon as you get home (don’t blame us if you quit your job for that gap yah).
**2. Sign up to a challenge **
Can’t afford a holiday? There’s more than one way to seize the moment. Whether it’s signing up for a marathon, committing to a triathlon next Autumn, (even though you’ve never ridden a bike,) or learning to plaster a wall. Commit to something that you know will be a challenge – because it’ll be a challenge – and give it everything you’ve got.
**3. Stop putting things in the diary **
You know that old adage, ‘life is what happens when you’re busy making plans’? Any diary obsessive will know how true this is. You can’t be truly spontaneous when every hour of your day is already accounted for. This year, resolve to give yourself some spare time. You’ll be less anxious, less tired more up for saying yes to things. And crucially when that amazing opportunity (party) does come up, you won’t have any other plans lined up!
4. Giving up on obsessions
What’s your current obsession? Clean eating? HIIT training? Almond milk? We live in a world that encourages obsession – absolute devotion – to a new trend or idea. But by following the hashtag and only ever doing what we think we’re supposed to do, we’re missing out on doing the things that actually make us feel good.
**5. Apply for a job you probably aren’t qualified for **
Come on, it’s January, when better to apply for that amazing dream job you probably won’t get an interview for? Because you never know, you might surprise yourself. Studies show that while men will apply for jobs they’re 60% qualified for women only tend to apply for jobs they’re 100% qualified for. So fill in that form and cross your fingers. You never know, one impulsive moment and by March you might signing the contract for your dream job!
