It’s official. It’s Christmas.
Why? Because Mariah says so. And honestly, who are we to argue?
At the stroke of midnight on Sunday, Mariah Carey released yet another iconic video. Opening with bright red heels decked in sequins, Carey approaches three pumpkins that read ‘it’s not time’, with a Christmas candy cane bat. As she smashes the ‘not’ pumpkin, All I Want For Christmas begins to play in the background. The singer then morphs into full-on Christmas mode, tossing snow into the air as she dons a sequin-decked, fur-trim Santa suit. Captioned Ready? ‘Let’s go #MariahSZN’, it’s hard to argue.
But, Carey has been ready for Christmas long before Twitter was. Last week, a fan reshared a notice that had appeared on a Dallas bar’s jukebox that banned ‘All I Want For Christmas’ until December 1st. Writing, "is this the war on Christmas I’ve heard about?" Carey quote-tweeted with a shot of herself in battle gear. If there’s a war on Christmas, then we know Carey isn’t here to play.
The video wraps with: "It's Time!!! To smash that pumpkin and treat it as pie...cause we still gotta get through Thanksgiving!!!" But, Carey wasn’t done, she also teased an announcement, as a card read: ’11/5.’
So, while we wait to find out if a brand new song will be left under our tree, we’ve rounded up the best Halloween to Christmas pipeline memes for your pleasure. After all, it’s Mariah SZN.
