Think you’re boyfriend’s a bit rubbish for forgetting to text you and buying you a crimson, synthetic, g-string monstrosity for V Day? Well at least he didn’t try and sell you on eBay.
This guy Shaun Coles from Kettering made the headlines today after he geared up for (fast-approaching) Valentine's Day by putting his girlfriend Debbie Moran up for sale on eBay. Not only that, but he listed his (presumably long suffering girlfriend) as an ‘old woman’. Adorable.
Shaun did it as a joke (lol!), but pretty quickly after listing his girlfriend he was inundadted with over 50 bids, with one bidder offering over £700.
Having a sudden change of heart, Shaun told ITV News Anglia he ‘wouldn’t sell her for anything. You can see names, but you can't really see anything else on this particular site so I can imagine that most bids came from the UK, but I would expect some international interest as well!’ Yes. That’s what’s going to make your girlfriend feel better about the whole thing – the ‘international interest’.
Debbie told ITV that she hates the photo Shuan chose and was annoyed when she saw that Shaun referenced her ‘lack of housework’ in the item description. ‘I was a bit annoyed with him at first,’ she said ‘but I knew he didn't do it maliciously because he's not like that.I know he does love me really. It's just a joke that got a bit out of hand!’
Debbie is, obviously, more forgiving than most.
