Political parties are vying for your attention and, more importantly, your vote on December 12th. They all insist that they’re the ones for the job. Cutting through the noise of manifesto promises - which are designed to draw you in and win elections before they’re inevitably changed, twisted and somewhat undone - can be a daunting task. So we've rounded up the key points from the three main political party manifestos in alphabetical order:

Conservative Party Manifesto

Slogan: 'Get Brexit Done, Unleash Britain's Potential'

The Prime Minister told supporters he wanted to 'forge a new Britain' while unveiling his 59-page manifesto in Telford, Shropshire last week. Boris claimed that the competition is 'closely fought' and had 'never been starker.' What are his key policies?

  • 50,000 more nurses in England and 50 million extra GP appointments per year

  • £34billion extra funding a year for the NHS

  • 40 new hospitals

  • Free parking at hospitals for some patients and staffers

  • Better regulated immigration

  • 20,000 more police officers

  • A 'triple tax lock', which means ruling out increases in the headline rate of income tax, National Insurance and VAT for five years

Labour Party Manifesto

Slogan: ‘It's Time For Real Change - For The Many, Not The Few’.

The Labour Party launched its 105-paged manifesto, with a new slogan 'It's Time For Real Change.' What is leader Jeremy Corbyn promising voters on poling day?

Key policies:

  • Raise the health budget by 4.3%

  • Renegotiate a new Brexit deal within three months and hold another referendum regarding the deal or Remain within six months

  • Increase minimum wage from £8.21 to £10

  • Negotiate a National Care Service

  • Abolish state pension age rises

  • Get rid of Universal Credit

  • Build 100,000 council homes per annum

  • Scrap private schools' charitable status

  • Work towards a net-zero carbon energy system within the 2030s

  • Nationalisation of key industries, including the water industry, Royal Mail, railways, energy firms, National Grid and the broadband arm of BT

  • Ensure that EU nationals have the right to remain in the UK, meaning they do not have to apply to continue working and living in Britain

Slogan: ‘Stop Brexit Build A Brighter Future'

The Liberal Democrats, lead by Jo Swinson, want to 'STOP BREXIT' in its tracks and concentrate on the NHS. What are the party's key promises?

Key policies:

  • Revoke article 50 and cancel Brexit

  • An income tax rise to help fund the NHS and social care

  • Children aged 2-4 will be given free childcare 48 weeks of the year

  • Reduce carbon emissions by generating 80 per cent of electricity from renewable energy

  • Legalise and regulate cannabis

  • Increase tax for frequent flyers

  • Employ 20,000 more teachers

  • Freeze train fares

  • Resettle 10,000 refugees per annum

  • Remove fossil fuels

  • Abolish tuition fees

  • Get rid of all single-use plastics

  • Spend £2.5billion on cycle routes

The Brexit Party

According to leader Nigel Farage, the document is not a manifesto but a "Contract With The People'

Key policies:

  • No extension to the transition period

  • The NHS must remain publicly-owned

  • Reduce immigration each year

  • Decrease tax on domestic fuel

  • Free broadband on public transport
