When J.K Rowling revealed that there will be a Harry Potter movie prequel Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, fans understandably went into complete Potter hysteria. But it turns out that is only a third of the good news, BECAUUUSEE wait for it… are you sitting comfortably…another two films are set to follow.
WE KNOW. A truly glorious day for Potter fans.
The revelation comes after a fan mistakenly thought that the new play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child would be made into a film. The author super-casually tweeted back, ‘You heard wrong, I’m afraid. #CursedChild is a play. #FantasticBeasts will be 3 movies though!’
The first installment, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, will be set in 1926 and will follow the adventures of Newt Scamander, who is played by super-chiseled Hollywood heartthrob Eddie Redmayne. The gist is that Newt is a is a ‘magizoologist’ (FYI, someone who studies magical creatures such as hinkypunks and grindylows) and travels to New York with some of the magical creatures stuffed into his briefcase. Sounds like a spell for trouble, if you ask us...
