It’s that time of year again when our Hollywood favourites gear themselves up for a race to awards season glory with today seeing the release of the Golden Globes nominations.
And as the buzz around her movie Cake grows Jennifer Aniston has had yet another nod being nominated for the Best Actress award.
This follows her SAG nomination just yesterday. Overall Birdman is this seasons leading film with a total of SEVEN nominations including Best Comedy of Musical and Best Director.
When it comes to the men, The Imitation Game's Benedict Cumberbatch will do battle with fellow Brits Eddie Redmayne and David Oyelowo in the Best Actor in a Drama category, while Jake Gyllenhaal and Steve Carell are also up for the prestigious accolade.
The Theory of Everything is also looking pretty popular. The Stephen Hawking biopic, which stars Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones is up for a total of four awards.
The nominations were announced today by Kate Beckinsale, Peter Krause, Paula Patton and Jeremy Piven, who all took turns reading out the names of the fortunate stars.
The 72nd Annual Golden Globes will take place on January 11, 2015, and the ceremony will welcome back hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who are set to present the show together for a third year running.
