You might have noticed the hashtag #askhannaforcash trending last night and early this morning. Looking at the type of users engaging with it, it was easy to dismiss as another incomprehensible Twitter convo between teenagers about which YouTube stars should shag each other or which member of Union J is the cutest but it turns out, this one was a little bit different. You see ‘Hanna’ aka @PrincessThot was giving away free cash. Or so she claimed.
Last night @Princessthot (whom this website are claiming is called Hanna Bonet) Tweeted this:
According to Hanna, this was her dad’s Paypal account and he’s not all that much of a nice guy, 'I hate my father, he's a useless piece of shit and he called me a whore so i'm making sure to drain all his money!!’ The girl - who claimed to be 16 - Tweeted. She also told people not to feel bad, ‘I could easily put all this money into a private swiss account that my father would never find and spend it myself but this way is better’.
Yeah, good one right? All the hallmarks of a typical Twitter hoax. Until that is, people started claiming they’d received money from her.
Weird right? Well it only got weirder. As the night wore on the amount of cash Hanna was ‘transferring’ to people’s bank accounts got higher and higher until some people were thanking her for amounts as high as 20k with people claiming they'd managed to pay off their school loans and were going on shopping sprees.
Then, this happened.
And that’s the last we’ve heard from @PrincessThot.
The whole thing's got to be BS. For starters what kind of maniac has $23million in a Paypal account? Also despite people claiming they'd recieved money from Hanna, only one of them was able to provide picture evidence despite each claimant recieving a number of calls from the Twitter world for 'proof' that they'd received the money.
As for her dad being arrested, jumping the shark.... right?
Still, weird story though. And the best Twitter hoax we've seen yet. And, if by some magical reason PrincessThot turns out to be telling the truth and is some sort of 21st Century cyber Robin Hood then everyone's better off right? Except her dad. Obvs.
