The Debrief apologises in advance if you clicked on this article and have a big fear of spiders. Seriously. Sorry a thousand times, because you’re about to be scared shitless.
This is Charlotte. Say hey to Charlotte, everyone. Charlotte has been living in an animal rescue farm in Queensland for the past year, and she's also become a bit of a social media star. The picture in question was first posted last October, but clearly no one picked up on how bloody massive dear Charlotte was until now – because it’s recently been shared thousands of times. Yes, a spider has had more social pick up than you.
Barnyard Betty’s, the animal sanctuary Charlotte lives in describes her as: ‘a beautiful, calm spider, not aggressive in any way and like most spiders she just wanted to go about her business eating bugs and living in peace.’
That’s all very well but oh my god LOOK AT HER. Does anyone else feel a mixture of pure fear, and sickness all at once? I’m sure she’s a delightful spider, I’m sure she spends her days eating bugs, napping and making beautiful cobweb scarfs for herself and all her friends but if I see her picture on my feed one more time I will cry.
She has longer legs than me and I’m an average 5ft 5, plus I can literally see her eyes and the fur on her back. Even when the picture is minimised on my screen I get shivers. Just no. No no no no. I’m sure you’re a great gal, Charlotte, but it’s a no from me.
