is This The World's Most Expensive Fidget Spinner?

About two weeks ago, a colleague asked me if I’d heard of fidget spinners. I stared blankly at her, because I hadn’t and the word made me feel uneasy. Little did I know about a week later I would be writing the most outrageous story about a fidget spinning that costs $16,800. THAT’S BASICALLY SEVETEEN THOUSAND AMERICAN DOLLARS.

I am not lying, this is real. It’s coated in 100-grams worth of gold. Created by jewellery brand Caviar, they describe this little guy as a: ‘modern, original and ingeniously simple accessory in your hands will attract attention and will tell others about your ironic view of life, your calm and wisdom, with which you take the most important decisions, easily, as if spinning the spinner in his hand. In addition, it is a great gift option, impressive and memorable accessory for the person who has everything.’ I have no words.

Because of the above, I have decided to go some digging to 1) find out why on earth the world is obsessed with fidget spinners, and 2) look into more bonkers ones.

What is a fidget spinner?

Fidget spinners are small, ball-bearing (lol sorry I’m immature) toys that you rotate between your fingers.

Where can I buy a fidget spinner?

Amazon, mate. There’s tons, like this LED one. Go W.I.L.D. Or French brand Colettesells them. Vogue US also reported on one by Lip Smacker called Glamspin. It’s actually really cute looking so if I’d buy any, it would be this one – and it has actual lip gloss in it.

How does a fidget spinner actually work?

Supposedly the momentum of the toy ‘provides a pleasing sensory experience.’ Right. Ok then…
