Hope Solo, the goalkeeper for the US soccer team has been arrested for hitting her sister and teen nephew during a fight at her house near Seattle.

Responding to a 911 call citing 'a disturbance' shortly after midnight, police reported that Solo appeared 'intoxicated and upset' whereas her sister and 17 year-old nephew were clearly injured.

The attack came after a party Solo was hosting and she's currently being held without bail in a jail near Seattle on two charges of domestic violence assault in the fourth degree under her married name Hope Amelia Stevens.

Hours before marrying Jerramy Stevens, her current husband and former Seattle Seahawks player, police arrested him believing he had assaulted her but he was released due to insufficient evidence.

Solo has won two Olympic gold medals with her soccer team and is due to appear in court on the 23rd June.
