Following the success of the Ladybird books for adults series (covering topics such as modern dating, the mid-life crisis and how to tackle hipsters), someone has had the bright idea to create a parody of Enid Blyton’s Famous Five.

The series, written by Bruno Vincent, called Enid Blyton for Grown-Ups will follow the original characters as they embark on adulthood in 2015. The new series will see Julian, George, Dick, Anne and their dog Timmy struggling with very modern issues such as attempting to give up booze, and finding themselves on a puzzling ‘away day’.

The spoof series includes four tales titled: Five Give Up the Booze, Five Go On A Strategy Away Day, Five Go Parenting and our favourite, Five Go Gluten Free. The cover which comes complete with a picnic scene depicting a portable spiralizer and green juices.

The books will be released just in time for Christmas on the 3rd November. Priced at £6.99, we imagine these will be the most Instagrammable secret santa gifts on the market.
