Meeting random new people is one of the best things about being away, and when you’re several sangrias down, friending each other on Facebook, you really do mean it when you say ‘We should hang out!’ when you get home. But without a constant supply of poolside cocktails and sunshine to ease the social wheels, perhaps it’s no surprise that new research shows most holiday friendships fade within 24 hours of getting home – and over half of us have never contacted our travel pals more than once since getting back on home soil.
