Christmas can be a very stressful time. All the shopping, the mingling with family members you don't actually like very much, the drinking of so many drinks you fear you may feel permanantly sluggish...

For one reindeer, though, the season of goodwill has clearly become all too much because, over the weekend, when he was meant to be hanging out at a Tesco Christmas event in Nottingham, he went rogue and escaped, running off down the street.

According to The Mirror, the animal was being led out of its truck when it was startled by a car alarm, which caused it to slip its rope and run off down the road where it terrified local residents. 'It was an incredible sight. You get the odd squirrel around here, but never a reindeer.' Said Amanda Walker. It was eventually found hiding in a nearby garden.

TBH, can you blame the reindeer? For 11 months of the year, he probably lives a lovely life in complete obscurity, then, come December 1st, he's probably got more celebrity appearances to make at Christmas events than Danny Dyer does at provincial nightclubs.
