You may have fleetingly cast your eyes upon the Commonweath games on the telly, but you're going to want to tune in properly over the next few days. The England Netball team are smashing it and have played their way to the semi-finals and yes, it really is exciting.
Last night The Roses (that's what our team's called, btw) beat New Zealand for the first time in Commonwealth Games history. Like, ever. It had never happened before but now it has and you should be pretty gutted about missing it. Let us bring you up to speed...
England sailed their way through to the next round of the tournament winning their match in the quarter finals with a final score of 54-45. They're at the top of their group (B) with zero losses so far and the excitement around how well our national netball team is doing is making us really nostalgic for our own time on the school courts, albeit in our case it was somewhat reluctantly and forced to wear those uncomfortable florescent velcro bibs.
Memories of annoying nail-length inspections at the beginning of a game, forgetting that you're playing quarters, not halves and arguing with your PE teacher about wearing trackie bottoms underneath your netball skirt are one thing, but the incredible women representing team UK are playing the sort of high paced, precise, intense and legitimately impressive netball that our sporty 15-year-old hearts could only dream of.
Want to follow them in all of their Commonwealth glory? 'Course you do. Next up we're due to face either Australia or Jamaica on Saturday and then the finals are taking place on Sunday.
How To Watch The Commonwealth Games Netball Finals
If you're without a TV (and sneakily trying to watch on and beyond your lunch break at work), you can head over to the BBC Spots website where they're broadcasting the match between Australia and Jamaica, which will decide who The Roses face over the weekend.
When it comes to the semi-finals, though, the match is on Saturday 14 April at 17.02 local time - 8.02 AM for us here in the UK. You can tune into BBC Two to watch all the action live but if you're still asleep (or hungover) you can wake up to the highlights on the BBC Sport website too.
