We can all agree that in the past 12 months Emma Watson has been a pretty great person. We're not just talking about her open letter to Steve Carrell, but her UN speech and work for HeForShe.
Em has been named Campaigner of the Year at the Observers' Ethical Awards 2015 for her work for HeForShe. Emma reacted to the news by tweeting: “Thank you @ObserverEthical for awarding me Campaigner of the Year! Honoured! I want to share this w every @HeForShe out there #ethicalawards. She added: "Special thanks to the brilliant team at @UN_Women and to @liviafirth who accepted the award on my behalf. #heforshe #ethicalawards.”
Of course this is just one of many awards that has gone Emma's way. This year she was one of Time Magazine's Most Influential people, being praised for her “vigorous embrace of feminism”.
Emma Watson made HeForShe one of the main talking points of 2015, with her moving speech on gender equality. In her speech she said: “If you believe in equality, you’re a feminist. Sorry to tell you.” But she described HeForShe as “not a men’s club,” but "it’s an equality club for both genders.”
So what's next? Oscar? Nobel? Quidditch cup?
