Emma Thompson’s what we call a dream woman. We’ve admired ever since we were kids and realised she was the woman behind Nanny McPhee’s warts and wonky teeth, but after her appearance on Newsnight last night, we think we might love her even more. Seriously, why is she not our mum?
In light of the continuing stream of allegations surrounding film producer, Harvey Weinstein, Thompson spoke with candour about the gender dysfunction in the film industry in an interview on BBC2’s Newsnight last night. The Oscar-winning actress called Weinstein out for being a bully in his business practice and described him as being the tip of the iceberg of a much bigger problem.
