We have some good news for the health- (and law-) conscious stoners amongst you, because a Dutch company has just launched what they claim is the first ‘100% legal’ electronic joint. Quick, somebody put on Planet Earth and bring us a family-sized packet of Oreos, for God’s sake.
The manufacturers E-Njoint B.V. (catchy) claim that the eJoint is totally harmless and contains no dangerous substances, such as nicotine, tobacco or even THC – which is one of the active ingredients in weed. Menno Contant, the CEO of E-Njoint B.V., said:
‘Holland is well known in the world for its tolerant and liberal attitude towards soft drugs. The introduction of this new product clearly makes a statement.’
According to Contant, the eJoint is ‘100% legal’ and, unlike vaporizers already available on the market – which work by vaporizing cannabis (illegal in the UK) at a high temperature – uses only vegetable glycerine, propylene glycol and one of six ‘biological’ flavours, such as watermelon, passion fruit, green apple and something mysteriously called ‘sweet energy’. This may well be a Bob Marley song? We dunno…
Whether a whole bunch of artificial flavourings and some vegetable matter can actually get you baked remains to be see – and there’s still some debate about whether or not eCigarettes are safe – but there are certainly a lot of people getting behind the idea, as Contant claims 10,000 eJoints are sold every day across Europe. And for the football fans amongst you, there’s even a disposable World Cup-themed eJoint.
Good luck trying to smoke it in a crowded pub on match day without attracting attention…
