Last night, 30 black students at Georgia's Valdosta University were removed from a rally on campus where presidential candidate Donald Trump was speaking.
According to USA Today, the students were 'standing silently at the top of the bleachers at Donald Trump’s rally' but were then 'escorted out by Secret Service agents who said the presidential candidate had requested their removal before he began speaking.'
A video, posted above, shows the students, tearful and visibly upset over their forced exit. 'I think we got kicked out because we're a group of black people and because of what's going on in America they were scared we were going to say something or do something,' One girl says, assuring the reporter that disruption was never their intention. 'It shows you how racist even our own school is that we can't even go to our own school complex.'
'Basically we just came to the rally today to make a statement with our attire,' says another girl dressed all in black. 'We came in quiet, we weren't starting any trouble, we weren't saying anything... We just came in together as a group to see what the the presidential candidate had to offer not only our campus but to the community and also our country.'
Trump's campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks denies that Trump himself asked for the removal of the students stating, 'There is no truth to this whatsoever.'
This latest failing at race relations (apart from wanting to ban Muslims from entering the country and calling Mexicans rapists, NBD) comes while Donald Trump is still trying to clear up the fallout from failing to publically condemn support for his campaign from former grand wizard (seriously) of the Ku Klux Klan David Duke. When Trump was asked to disavow Duke's support three whole times by CNN's Jake Tapper, all he managed to say was that he 'didn't know anything' about David Duke, white supremacy or the Ku Klux Klan.
For those still not convinced that having this guy as a president is a no good, very bad, terrible idea, spare 20 mins this afternoon to watch John Oliver's excellent segment that responds to the David Duke issue by taking *all *of Donald Trump's 'issues' to task including his questionable financial record, his abominable treatment of women, his lack of any coherent policies... the list goes on. Watch, enjoy, and then fear for the future of the free world.
