Taylor Swift is "very strategic with her friends", according to Diplo. The 36-year-old DJ, and one-time man on Katy Perry’s arm, thinks that the ‘Blank Space’ singer is very clever when it comes to her choice of pals and is scared that talking about it could risk his safety.
He told the February edition of GQ magazine: "Taylor Swift is very strategic with her friends and enemies. And I know lots of secrets. I can't divulge, but I know a lot of stuff about her and I'm scared. I'm scared for my life."
Diplo, real name Thomas Wesley Pentz, was in the magazine as part of its Legacy Project, which highlights important "musicians who matter." After the article first appeared online the quote was Swiftly (get it?) removed but is now mysteriously back in the Q&A.
This isn’t the first time the pair have come to blows; last yearDiplo asked fans on Twitter to pledge money to a ‘Get Taylor Swift A Booty’ campaign, resulting in T’s BFF Lorde tweeting: “@diplo should we do something about your tiny penis while we're at it hm.”
Diplo referenced the incident in GQ, saying: “So many great albums came out that week, and all people talked about, on all the big press, was Me vs. Lorde, and Kim Kardashian's butt. No one covered any music. And it's funny, because me and Lorde, we're actually friends, and it was a funny, in-jest conversation.
“So many tabloids used it to make it story, when it was not. Literally, it was such a tongue-in-cheek joke on both sides. I think Taylor Swift is such an impactful character, that it was because she was involved that it became really big.”
Meanwhile, Diplo's ex-girlfriend Katy Perry, 30, is rumoured to be gearing up to take aim at Taylor during herSuper Bowl half-time performance. The ‘Dark Horse’ singer will apparently sing new song 'She's So Creepy',thought to be a response to Taylor's 'Bad Blood', which exposes details of a feud with someone who may or may not be KP.
Taylor, 25, has never actually admitted that the song, from her album 1989, is about Katy but she has said of the unidentified rival: "We're straight up enemies. And it wasn't even about a guy!
"It had to do with business. She tried to hire a bunch of people out under me."
