Is there a problem with the relationship that women have money? We think so. From the gender pay gap, to the way money has an impact on our mental health, to the fact that women are more likely to be in debt than men, there's a lot of money matters that we need to address. So, The Debrief's Deputy Editor Vicky Spratt has rallied up three millennial women to host a live panel discussion about their personal experiences of how they make it work with money. See who will be on the panel, and how to bag yourself some free tickets to attend, below.
Vicky Spratt, Deputy Editor of The Debrief
Current affairs journalist and housing campaigner Vicky has an in-depth knowledge of millennial inequality. At the event, you can expect her to be discussing the gender pay gap and how women are not properly educated about money and how to ask for a raise.
Missy Flynn, Co-Founder of RITA's Bar and Dining
Missy founded cult hit London restaurant RITA's along with her partner. It didn't quite work out as forces beyond their control made it difficult to make a profit despire the venture's rave reviews and popularity. Missy has since become evangelical about the importance of making money and making good financial decisions but, equally, realised that nobody's worth is tied to what's in their bank account. She's enrolled in the Feminist Business School and thinks the relationship women have with money needs to change.
Rebecca O'Connor, Co-Founder and Director of Good With Money
A former finance and business correspondent, and communications director for Trillion Fund (a renewable energy crowdfunding platform), Becky was motivated by both of these roles to bring together ways that people can earn or save money without compromisng their own pocket, the planet or other people.
Nellie Eden, Co-Founder of Creative Agency Babyface
Frustrated by the lack of public platforms for millennial women to shout about their careers, Nellie decided to co-found her own. Since launching Babyface, she's worked with the likes of Nike, Topshop and adidas. At the event, you can expect her to speak about her personal experience with financing a start-up company.
