This weekend Lord Alan Sugar reignited the debate about Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's weight by calling her "too thin." During the X Factor he tweeted: "Catching up on X Factor. Cheryl is now too thin."
Earlier this year Cheryl launched an impassioned rant against skinny-shaming on her Instagram page and in an interview with the Evening Standard magazine. Cheryl said: “It’s crazy double standards. You’d never be allowed to say to somebody, ‘Oh, you look a bit fat’,” she said. “And being overweight is unhealthy – it’s actually a bad message to tell someone who is obese that they look ‘curvy’ or ‘great’. “But you know what? After this length of time, there’s nothing I can hear about myself that I haven’t already heard.”
She then set her Instagram to private to block out the negative comments from trolls. The star's account is now private, so people have to request to follow her, and her insta-bio reads: "If you're a negative person swerve you have no place on my page. Don't waste your time. Good vibes only."

Amanda Holden has reponded to Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's comments around her weight loss, and that body-shaming should be made "illegal".
Cheryl famously told _ES Magazin_e that “The body shaming has to stop. It’s bulls***. Something has to be done, changed, even if it’s done in law" and that she was "sick and tired" of people commenting on her weight.
But Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda, who also works alongside Simon Cowell, said she thought Cheryl's comments were a "little stupid".
"It's a little stupid to say it should be illegal," she told Mail Online. "Because where does it end? When you're in the public eye, you have to take the good with the bad."
However, it's not an all-out war between the two - as Amanda did add that she thought Cheryl was "gorgeous".
She added: "Like it or not, she wouldn't be on the panel if it wasn't for the papers. You can't complain. I think she's gorgeous anyway."

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has spoken out again about comments surrounding her weight loss in an interview with the Evening Standard's ES Magazine.
After continued speculation about her recent weight loss, which she has said is down to stress after the tragic loss of her father-in-law, Cheryl said this kind of 'skinny shaming' should be made illegal.
"I can take whatever they [the press] throw at me after 13 years, what worries me is what it’s doing to the younger generation. And some of the people writing this stuff are women. There is no sisterhood,”she said.
“The body shaming has to stop. It’s bulls***. Something has to be done, changed, even if it’s done in law.”
Cheryl had previously spoken out about body shaming on Instagram, after fans commented about her weight:
"I am so sick and tired of it being ok to call somebody too thin or a 'bag of bones. I would never dream of calling somebody too fat and that they should maybe cut down on their food intake? What is the difference? You have no idea what I have been through" she said.
"Just losing my father in law v recently and everything that comes with that. Not that I am or should justify myself to anyone [sic]."
She added: "I'm so f sick of people thinking it's ok to be mean or body shame anyone. And it's woman on woman. Have some respect and maybe think there may be reasons why before opening your mouth please [sic]."

She's found herself at the centre of speculation over her appearance and now Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has spoken out against the critical comments.
The* X Factor* judge has put her weight loss down to stress. Speaking at the London auditions last week Cheryl spoke out about the negative comments she's faced and said: ‘It’s not nice but there are people out there going through similar things to me, it hurts them.’
Simon Cowell has now said about Cheryl's recent weight loss: 'I think she did pick up a bug and I think the way she's approaching what was addressed about her weight in a very open way - by saying she is thin and trying to put on weight - I don't think she would have done that two years ago.'
According to reports Cheryl is glad to be back working and she’s said to be ‘eating lots’ backstage on the show. ‘X Factor is giving Cheryl her spark back. She’s been eating lots and is getting her strength up,’ a source told The Sun. ‘She had a really stressful time but she’s feeling really happy to be working again.’
Earlier this month Cheryl responded to Instagram comments about her weight, posting: 'I am so sick and tired of it being ok to call somebody too thin or a 'bag of bones. I would never dream of calling somebody too fat and that they should maybe cut down on their food intake? What is the difference? You have no idea what I have been through. Just loosing my father in law v recently and everything that comes with that. Not that I am or should justify myself to anyone [sic].' She added: "I'm so f sick of people thinking it's ok to be mean or body shame anyone. And it's woman on woman. Have some respect and maybe think there may be reasons why before opening your mouth please [sic].'
As Grazia reported last week, friends close to Cheryl have rallied around her in rencent weeks, in the wake of the death of her father-in-law. A source said: ‘She did go through that tough time and Jean-Bernard’s father’s death has hit him very hard because he’s lost his mother as well and is an only child. She’s been supporting him. They’ve been going back and forth to France over the last couple of months to deal with everything.’
