Ever found yourself swiping through Tinder on a Sunday evening and spotting the guy of your best friends dreams? She keeps banging on about finding someone with a beard, GSOH and who is partial to a bit of Great British Bake Off and there he is - on your screen as a potential match. You on the other hand are more into that geeky, clean cut sorta-vibe and Paul Hollywood makes you want to throw something at the TV. Well problem solved, thanks to Tinder’s constant strive to match up singletons, as you can now forward the tinder potential on to to your beard-loving pal.
The Tinder Share Button
Tinder is now trialling the‘share’ button in a few locations meaning you can now unleash your inner Cher Horowitz and become a bonefide matchmaker (2016 style). Clicking the share button will allow you to send a temporary link via text to a friend and allows them to swipe on the profile. No time for dilly-dallying though as the link will expire after 5 clicks or 72 hours – which ever comes first.
Playing matchmaker can even make you happier, a study conducted by researchers at Duke University and Harvard Business School found, that people who regularly introduce people to others are more content with their lives.
However, you can opt out of the sharing feature, if you don’t trust your friend’s wingman skills after they set you up with Barry from I.T that time, who spent the entirety of the blind-date crying into his green mango Thai salad because he was still pining for his ex.
