Last night Facebook launched a new function that allows users to offer help to anyone affected in terror attacks.

Following on from its 'mark as safe' feature, which lets people tell their friends that they are OK if they are in the area affected, the new function then allows them to offer help to anyone nearby.

You can offer a place to stay, a ride home, a meal or cup of tea, with many also offering to donate blood. Vice versa, if you're looking for aid, you can ask for it in a similar way. Facebook then publishes both posts publically, allowing a forum for people offering and asking for help.

The attack, which involved a white van mowing into pedestrians and a knife attack on London Bridge and Borough Market, left seven people dead and 48 injured. Prime Minister Theresa May condemned the terrorist attack, saying 'enough is enough'.
