Remember the so-called Craigslist Killer? Miranda Barbour, the 19-year-old charged with luring a man by placing an ad on the website offering companionship – before killing him? Well, it turns out the teenager might have killed a lot more than anyone thought. The teenager has given an interview from prison saying she stopped counting victims after 22.

The teenager, who was arrested for allegedly luring 42-year-old Troy LaFerrara to her car and stabbing him over 20 times as her 22-year-old husband Elytte Barbour strangled him, told WNEP she has no idea of the actual number but thinks it's 'under a hundred'.

Barbour claims her killing spree began at the age of 13, spans several states across the US, and says she is part of a satanic cult.

Police in America are treating her claims as serious – but they've also led to some discussion/debate about the pysche behind female serial killers. Northeastern University criminologist Jack Levin told CNN that female serial killers are rare, and it’s even more rare for them to use knives, as Barbour is alleged to have done in the case of LaFerrara. He also says serial killers are usually more careful when they dispose of bodies. The couple dumped LaFerrara’s body in a back garden.

Her husband says that, although they had planned other murders together, LaFerrara was the only one they went through with.

WNEP reporter Francis Scarcella said Barbour did not hesitate in her interview, and 'never gave the impression that it was a rehearsal'. He also said she showed no remorse and 'would do it again' if she got out of prison. The death of the father of Barbour's one-year-old child is also being investigated by police.
