Yesterday Caitlyn (formerly Bruce) Jenner unveiled her fabulous self for the whole world to see on the cover of Vanity Fair. Now in an interview accompanying the shoot she has revealed all about her marriage to Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner.
Caitlyn reveals that the marriage did not end because of her wish to be a woman but because of Kris' mistreatment of her. Caitlyn said that whilst at the beginning the couple enjoyed a happy relationship, when Kris started to gain more power and Keeping Up With The Kardashians started things started to get strained.
She said: "The first 15 years I felt she needed me more because I was the breadwinner. Then really around the show, when that hit and she was running the whole show and getting credit for it and she had her own money, she didn't need me as much from that standpoint... I think in a lot of ways she became less tolerant of me.'
Caitlyn continued: 'A lot of times she wasn't very nice. People would see how I got mistreated. She controlled the money, all that kind of stuff." She later added: "Twenty per cent [of why they split] was gender and 80 per cent was the way I was treated. She had her own money, she didn't need me as much from that standpoint. The relationship was different. I think in a lot of ways she became less tolerant of me. Then I'd get upset and the whole relationship kind of fizzled."
As part of the feature Kris had her say revealinging: "He was married to me and he wasn't who he wanted to be so he was miserable. All I was doing was working very hard for my family so that we could all have a wonderful future, and he was pissed off.
"At the end of my relationship with Bruce he definitely had a lot of social anxiety. That was one of the reasons we were in a struggle at the end." Kris also added that, "there wasn't a gender issue. Nobody mentioned a gender issue," saying that Bruce explained that he had taken hormones in the 80s but had never explained why.
Yesterday Caitlyn was also welcomed to Twitter and managed to break the world record for the quickest time to gain a million followers, amassing the fans in just 4 hours.
