Well Sarah Jessica Parker's just shattered our dreams. After months of Sex And The City 3 anticipation she's has just come out and said it: there's not a third movie in the works.

Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday she said there's been no conversation about a potential third movie. 'I've tried to make up some interesting answers every time I've been asked this question lately,' she said. 'And the truth of the matter is there has been no real conversation about a third movie at all.'

Wahhhhhhhhh! We're never wearing a pair of Manolos again in protest.

Okay, maybe we're being a tad melodramatic, but all signs have been pointing to Sex And The City 3 in recent months.

Kristin Davies said she was keen to return to the role of Charlotte in December. 'I don't think a third film is a pipe dream,' she said. 'There is discussion, people talk about it amongst the people who are the players, but I don't know if it will come together. It would be very exciting if it did.' But the others aren't as keen.'

Executive producer Michael Patrick King talked about an 'untold chapter' in February. 'I do think there's one story left,' he said. 'Whether it ever happens is a whole other situation. But there's four girls, and those girls are still in my mind. There are other stories to tell and characters that haven't even been written yet.'

And even SJP herself said that there could be more to Carrie's story in an interviewing January. 'A part of me thinks there is one last chapter to tell,' she said. 'But timing is a peculiar thing. It isn't a decision that can wait forever.'

It seems it's just not meant to be. Sob. But we're going to look on the bright side. SJP didn't say the movie would NEVER happen, she just said it wasn't in the works right now.
