Creator Charlie Brooker confirmed the return of Black Mirror at the Edinburgh International TV Festival back in June. And now that Netflix has released a teaser for the upcoming anthology series, let the speculating commence...

Black Mirror producer, Annabel Jones, gave a super in-depth interview to the Independentwhere she spilt the beans on what happens in each episode of the new series. Episode one is a 'beautiful, personal study', two is 'like an indie movie set in blue collar America' and three is 'pertinent to the contemporary dating scene'. Episode four is 'a space opera', five is a black and white film and finally six is 'absolute popcorn, we're talking three stories in one.

Well, kind of. If we're being perfectly honest it's barely even a teaser trailer but rather a list of the episode titles. Intriguing, yes. But not enough Netflix. We need more.

Things haven't been kept quite as schtum as they have in the previous series, though. Charlie Brooker teased that every episode in series 4 could be part of the same universe this time around. Speaking to *The Hollywood Reporter *alongside Executive Producer Annabel Jones, he admitted that their creative process has changed while working on the last season of Black Mirror and that in series 4 'sometimes we’ve done some things where we did explicitly refer to other episodes.'

Brooker also revealed that various different genres will be used for each episode. He said, 'we've got one that's overtly comic, much more overtly comic than anything we've done. It's got fairly mainstream comic elements, but also some really unpleasant stuff that happens.'

When is Black Mirror season 4 on Netflix?

Although there is no confirmation of the release date, if the same as last year, hopefully, we’ll be seeing Black Mirror back on our screens in October.

Of course, everybody’s wondering will there be a sequel to the Emmy nominated episode, San Juniperio? And of yet it is unknown, but there’s hope... commented on the possibility of a return of the 80s love story saying 'we thought about it.' 'There were aspects of the story that I took out. For instance, I’d originally written a scene where Kelly is in a kindergarten and there are children there and when you realise what’s going on – it’s that these are deceased children. It was too sad and too poignant of a note to hit in that story, but I kept thinking about how that felt like a whole world in and of itself.'
