There's a lot going on right now. Probably more than you should be dealing with. But, seeing as there's nothing you can do about what's going on around the world, instead you're going to have to go into self-preservation mode.

Here's a few meditation apps to help you do that.

Headspace meditation app

Obvs the most famous app and arguably the reason why meditation and mindfullness became such a damn big deal, Headspace is loved by many for it's simple, easy to use interface, cute graphics and clear and easy instructions. Sadly it's not totally free, well, the first ten days are but after that you're looking at £4.99 a month. Which, let's face it, is less than a gym membership.

Calm Meditation app

This is my personal fave. Namely because of the cool sound effects they have which make you think you're by the ocean, in a meadow or outside in the rain. Nice. There's plenty of different programmes you can choose from including programmes for managing stress, focussing, calming anxiety... Sadly, the programmes aren't all free (boo) but enough are that you can get a feel for whether or not you want to splash out. You can use it on desktop too.

Digipill meditation app

This one treats meditation as a medical thing. Each session is a 'pill' that you can add to your 'medicine cupboard' which is tailored to suit different problems like having trouble sleeping, getting motivated, struggling to focus... Annoyingly (again) you only get one 'pill' free but each 'prescription' (eg: session) costs just £3.99.

Breathe

You get LOADS of free sessions on Breathe. Way more than any of the other apps. And it's got a handy readable guide to help you out before you get into it. You don't even have to sign up. Just download the app and meditate away. Very cute graphics too.
