Babes for Trump is a thing on Instagram guys. Well, it's sort of a thing, in that they've currently got just under 7K followers. The feed is mostly made up of women in bikinis and baseball caps, coming together in their support of the tiny-handed, perma tanned presumptive Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump. There's a bit of wet t-shirt action in there too. Cool.
But why so surprising - women notoriously love putting our bikinis on for politics, right?
Well, I guess there are several reasons why on the face of it, it seems unlikely that Trump would attract such a group of loyal female fans. For example there was that time in March 2016 when Trump said there should be ’some form of punishment’for women who have abortions, were abortions to be made illegal in America. Although he did backtrack on elements of that lunatic statement fairly quickly, TBF.
And let's not forget the time he questioned Hillary Clinton's ability to run for president with ‘If Hillary Clinton can’t satisfy her husband what makes her think she can satisfy America?’ Presumably he's refereing to her husbands historical affair with Monica Lewinsky.
Oh, and what about that time in 2013 when Trump tweeted ’26,000 unreported sexual assaults in the military-only 238 convictions. What did these geniuses expect when they put men and women together?’ Because as a woman in the military you should totally expect to be sexually assaulted.
Anyway, maybe Babes For Trump aren't on Twitter and never read about any of those things (0h wait, they are). Or maybe they don't care. Or maybe they're talking about a different guy called Trump.
