We already know quite a lot about the new iPhone 7 iOS updates, and now we know what it’s going to look like too. Hiya new photos, thanks for coming into our lives so we can see the future of the iPhone.
Apple filed a patent with drawings that indicate the new phone will have a wrap-around screen. Our first reactions to the new handset were ‘it looks like it would drop right out of my hand and onto the floor.’ Great start. It really does though, how are we meant to grip a phone that doesn’t have stable sides?
The product description tells us it will have transparent housing and a flexible display. What transparent housing is we’re not so sure, but apparently it will be formed of a glass tube. Interesting. You can read the rest of the description below:
'A consumer electronic product includes at least a transparent housing and a flexible display assembly enclosed within the transparent housing. In the described embodiment, the flexible assembly is configured to present visual content at any portion of the transparent housing.'
The new handset may not have a touch-sensitive button, and instead will be replaced with a touch-sensitive screen so you can get touch-happy all over. Does this mean if our phone is nestled in our pockets it might start texting random people? Who knows, all we know is this phone looks like something out of Back To The Future set in 2016 and we’re more concerned with it dropping on the floor than we are it looking pretty.
